FINALISTS DECIDED AT THE AUSTRALIAN LONGBOARD TITLES by justcalendars

 

Finalists in eight longboard divisions were determined today, when the semi-finals of the Australian Longboard Titles wrapped up in playful two-foot conditions at Gallows Beach. Are you willing to buy calendars, order 2023 Calendars here.

The Over-35 Men final will be a battle between Victorians and West Australians, after Micheal Pinney (Port Lonsdale, Vic) and Benjamin Pitts (Mt. Martha, Vic) tore through semi-final one, while Justin Redman (Dunsborough, WA) and Scott Trew (Mullaloo, WA) took the top two spots in their respective semi-final. All aforementioned surfers posted wave scores in excess of 7.00 (out of a possible ten points) to take the coveted finals spots.

Jason Livingston (Curl Curl, NSW) continued to blow away the spectators and judges in the Over-40 Men, posting a variety of high scoring waves. The ultra fast natural-footer smashed out an eclectic mix of backhand turns to book himself a spot into tomorrow’s final.

Other Over-40 Mens finalists include: Damian Coulter (Mountain Creek, Qld), Neil Thompson (WA) and John Schmidenberg (Emerald Beach, NSW).

Both Livingston and Schmidenberg have also booked themselves a spot into the Over-45 Men final where they will face off with Trevor Skinner (Yamba, NSW) and Jason Russell (Port Noarlunga South, SA).

Greg Brown (Jan Juc, Vic) continued to dominate the Over-50 Mens division hammering a multitude of sections with his exciting backside attack. The Victorian surfer posted a 15.50 to take out his semi-final and cement his appearance in tomorrow’s finals, where he’ll do battle against George Haskas (Maroubra, NSW), Barney Fenasse (Warriewood, NSW) and Terry Day (Coogee, NSW).

As a result of the performance, Brown was awarded the bcu money turn, which will see him awarded with a $100.00 bank account courtesy of bcu.

The bcu Australian Surf Festival will resume tomorrow with the finals of the Australian Longboard Titles.

bcu will be providing a $100 bank account for the #bcumoneyturn, which will be awarded daily to the surfer who executes the biggest turn as determined by the head judge.

More than 500 surfers from around Australia will contest the surfing showpiece from July 31-August 17 with National titles to be decided in Open Surfmasters, Longboard, Logger and Bodyboard divisions.

AUSTRALIAN LONGBOARD TITLES HEAT UP AHEAD OF SEMI-FINALS TOMORROW.

The Australian Longboard Titles edged closer to the finals today as entrants fought through a range of do-or-die heats in the second round.

2022 Over-45 Mens Australian Longboard Champion Jason Livingston (Curl Curl, NSW) mirrored the same performance that saw him win the coveted title last year, posting a near-perfect 19.00 heat total (out of a possible 20 points) in the second round of competition. The Northern Beaches surfer performed some giant turns to post the aforementioned score and book his spot into the Over-45 Mens semi-finals, where he’ll face off with Steve Russell (Port Noarlunga South, SA), Steve Del Rosso (Burleigh, Qld) and Adam Le-Cornu (Ocean Reef, WA).

As a result of the heat total – which is currently the highest of the entire Australian Longboard Titles – Livingston was awarded the bcu money turn. The overall performance saw him awarded with a $100.00 bank account courtesy of bcu.

Other Over-45 Mens round two winners were: John Schmidenberg (Emerald Beach, NSW), Trevor Skinner (Yamba, NSW) and Jason Russell (Port Noarlunga South, SA).

Other Over-50 Mens round two winners were: George Haskas (Maroubra, NSW), Terry Day (Coogee, NSW) and Simon Gates (Narrabeen, NSW).

Brian Kuit (Torquay, Vic), Brent Moss (Esperance, WA), Mike Neunuebel (Denmark, WA) and Rob Nedwich (Tomakin, NSW) all claimed wins in their respective round two Over-55 Mens heats to solidify a semi-final berth.
